Plastic Laminate

There were up to 15 layers of plastics/laminates used in the fabrication of these plaques; which included a solid core and up to seven layers of printed graphics, tulle or lamé and a protective layer(s) on each side. On some of the older pieces made in the early 20th Century, you can actually see and feel tulle (netting/thread) ends on the edge of the finished pieces.
