The Sovereign of the Seas operated for 20 years from 1988 to 2008. That's now 32 years since it was christened.

How can it be that a cash chip from that ship is only showing up now? Only two other ships had the same design $1 chip. The Nordic Prince (1971-1995) & Song of Norway (1970-1997)

The chip was found as part of a small lot of 35 chips in a box at a local auction in Kennebunk, Maine. It featured mostly cruise ship and foreign chips.
