Leyte is a province in the Philippines, I was born in "Abuyog" see the map below. According to Philippine Folklore, "Buyog" which is the stinging bee,
a traveler to Abuyog was ask what is the name of the place they last visited in Leyte - could not remember the name of the place, but insisted he won't forget
the place because he was bitten by "buyods" swarm of bees.
The locals said - you were in 'A-buyod' - so the traveler remembered the bees - yeah, that's it - Abuyog.
