I watched the excellent Hitchcock thriller "North By Northwest" on TCM last night - and was reminded of this image of Mt. Rushmore
under construction back in the 1930's... I read somewhere that the four presidents were originally supposed to have been carved all
the way down to the waist - but the project ran out of funding, so they just stopped.
