John....there was
In Response To: Re: Chip ID? ()

No failure on your part. Nobody can know everything. I’m sure there are plenty on entries with multiple listings. A California collector wants a chip to be from California and a Kentucky collector wants a chip to be from Kentucky. So there could be chips listed as 2 different locations.

My point is....how to we know the Chip is from this location? How was it determined? There are record cards for various chip manufacturers/distributors. We know exactly where a chip was sent...who it was sent to and when it was sent...and still have know idea where some of these where used. How was this location determined?

I do believe the chip is from the Sacramento area. ... and I have always based any research on the Staeffler ‘s listing. That doesn’t even mean that the chip is from the area. I have looked into possible Sacramento locations...but have come up with no conclusions.
My best guess was a place called Leon’s Club. Of course...it would only be a guess. I have no proof and do not want it listed as Leon’s Club

I was also basing my opinion that Mikacich used the zigzag mold before with Cummings (see C&M)

I do have this chip in red as well. So 3 colors so far...red, blue, yellow.
