Another plaque I have cleaned with water... Maybe seepage between the pours (center stripe). Not sure of construction; especially if the pour in not continuous and being an imperfect bond between both colors...or maybe the less-pigmented center wasn't as pourus. In either event, I doubt there was a perfect bond between the green and white for it to react as it did in both sections on each end.
