bought paper stuff that had that mildewy, moldy smell? I hate that smell, so when I have something that smells like that I put about 1/4-1/2 cup of baking soda into a gallon zip-lock baggie and seal the item in the bag. Leave it for several weeks, to several months...and consider replacing the baking soda if there is still an oder after a couple of months. I've done that with postcards, and with a phone book...and it's worked. Just dust the baking soda off when the item is ready to be removed from the baggie.
The El Rancho Vegas postcards below have been in a zip-lock since last November...I figured it was time to take them out and get them scanned and added to the collection...!! lol!
DISCLAIMER: I wouldn't recommend doing this on something that's rare and valuable.
