Well this is my contribution for today.
Two years ago I bought a collection of MOP.
What caught my eye was the Poker on the chips.
At first, after consulting the best mentors I have, I decided to sell these in an auction at Potter & Potter.
It would have been this spring auction.
But, then the very friendly guy from P&P said something to me that, well, made an alarm bell go off in my head.
Sorry P&P, these stay in collection.
I now was searching for a postcard that could give me more information on the Poker Game in Dieppe, France.
Take a good look at the tables. You can see the place where the dealer sits and the seven other places.
The guy standing there is the dealer. The man in the back is the supervisor.
Notice also the monogrames on the chairs and drappes. CD
Grand Cercle is what is know as high-end tables. They played for large sommes here.
Did they only play Baccarat? Did they play Poker here?
What also is funny is that the
MOP is very thick. Could this one have been used as a dealer button? It's 41 mm, 5 mm thick so a nice big size.
If only the men in the picture could speak ...
Jo from Belgium.
BTW: all is submitted for the chipguide except the ones with a blank reverse. Let me know if you want more information on these.
