Allo fellow collectors, I would like to introduce myself as well as to apologize to all whom may write to me and I haven’t answer yet/forgot. Not to excuse myself forever but I’m not too familiar with this chipboard and raising kids, maintain a career,... give me less time for my hobbies.
I’m Mathieu an acadian from Moncton, Nouveau Brunswick, Canada. Originally from Edmundston, NB a border city where even the Americans speak french. Lol what can I say when they made your country they took the river in the middle of my community for border hehe. So that’s why I apologize for my poor english writting skills.
I start collecting like I’m sure many of us by simply bringing 1$chips from casinos I was playing poker in and the rest is history. I’m a very small collector so let me talk about my collection. I take great pride of my collection especially all the chips from my native province of New Brunswick. For the simple reason because I work immensely to convinced and explain my hobby to cardroom I went. Perhaps the hobby is well established in the usa but here in the eastern canada not so much haha. In NB there only one commercial casino « casino NB » and there only one of first nation casino (grey rock) licenced by the atlancic lottery corporation whose in charge of all the atlantic gaming industry. There’s other casino/cardroom/bingohall first nation who independently runs their own game. That been said they are very small operators and you can simply go to the cage and buy a bunch of chips and leave haha throught time I gained their trust and made friendship with all of them. So whenever I was in their neighborhood I would show up, play and collect chips so that’s why the amount of those chips are extremely rare in circulation.
I will discard casino NB since I live in moncton and went they reopened it would be easy to collect some more. But I will present you all the others first nation casinos. As you may remark I used the term first nation because indian casino is pejorative term. Just like eskimos I know in alaska they might still use that term but it’s the great nation of inuits. Not that I want to judge anyone who still use these terms but I won’t.
So here’s all the chips. 4 of them are malisset first nation which is grey rock casino within the city limit of my hometown of Edmundston, a little further down is Tobique gaming center right beside of the city of perth andover, eagle nest poker room right beside the city of woodstock which is no longer in operation for poker is only base on social club which each player deal the card due of the low frequency because of the 2 bigger casino nearby. But maybe with few phonecall and pulling some string I might be able to gather some more chips since I’m friend with one of the dealer that used to deal there, and then St-Mary’s entertainment center which is into the city limits of fredericton our province capital. CC’s entertainment gaming center in a micmac first nation near the city of rexton.
