Shown below is an old Roulette Wheel I have in my Collection in my Museum. It was marked on the center Spindle - "L. Rude Mffg. Hoboken N. J. Formerly with F. Grote & Co." and is over 100 years old.
This was a 24" "Traveling" Wheel" and was housed in a custom made metal and leather shipping crate. This Wheel was used in Saratoga N.Y (see shipping label on the crate) probably in an illegal game set up during the racing season at Saratoga Downs.
The Wheel came with a deluxe tri- fold layout and a custom chip rack with 1200 chips. The rack has a cover made of mahogany with a brass bottom. This is one of the nicest complete "Traveling" Roulette set I have ever seen. Just imagine the stories this old Wheel could tell !!
