Weekend Finds at Kobey's San Diego

Got down to San Diego a bit late, in fact it was past 1 PM and I had to roll about fast before the vendors began packing up.

Let's make one thing clear. Now that I am the DEALER at the World Poker Tour, nobody better filch any tournament chips from my table, or I'll deal ya the Old Maid. And you'll never win the poker game with that card! And if two of ya try any funny business, the other guy will get the Fourteen of Broccoli. Yeah, I got that card in the deck, too.

A lot of home-play chips today, which I left lying in their box, but a couple of genuine chips and tokens. The small silver token is from Coin-Op Gasoline, it worked a gasoline pump back when a $1 gas token would get you about 3 gallons. The Powerine Oil group had coin-operated pumps at various locations in southern California (and a few in Las Vegas, perhaps under the Jackpot Gasoline brand). This one was from their Costa Mesa station - I am trying to get the entire set which will reveal the addresses of each station.

The encased penny is from Carter Oil. Raise your hands if you ever put Carter in your car! I DON'T SEE ANYONE. Oh, yeah, I forgot, it's not that kind of auction. Anyway - Humble Oil & Refining bought up Carter, then turned it into Esso or Enco or Exxon in its quest to create a national coast-to-coast chain of stations.
