The reverse protective laminate was peeled back and snapped off without removing it completely which the house did without requiring any special electrical tools or equipment, though leaving the plaques with a messy, watery, exposed pigment that would stain whatever it came in contact with, so I simply cleaned up the pieces I had by removing the rest of the laminate and wiped away the pigment.
