The Cherokee are a native American tribal group with around 320,000 officially enrolled members. According to the
2010 census, more than 800,000 Americans claim some level of Cherokee ancestry.

The major Cherokee groups are: the Eastern Band of Cherokee in North Carolina... the Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma...
the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee in Oklahoma... and a large group of ethnic Cherokee in California.
