We don't know too much about this cultivar except that it was sent to Hawaii just after WWll. Fellow Hawaiian chipper Llyle O. once said here that his grandmother used to sing of the Maikai under the Mango with the children... This, the 'Louise' is known to only throw off fragrance well after midnight; which can be induced earlier in the day by keeping the plant in a dark area and then bringing it out to the dinner table.
