This cue was made for me in 1992, by one of my best friends. He was widely known as one of the best pool cue makers in the world at the time. His name was Jerry Franklin & he started South🌵West Cues with his wife, Laurie in 1982 here in Las Vegas. Sadly he passed away in 1996 at only 44 years old. 😕 Just two days before our team was going to play in the BCA Nationals at the Riviera. The last photo shows Jerry in his shop in 1993.
I got the idea for the cue when I was at a pool tournament at the Pheasant Run in Saint Charles, Illinois in 1991. It came out even better than I could have imagined when I came up with the idea. 😊 The diamond inlays & the butt cap with the scrimshawed desert scene are ivory. The black wood is Gaboon Ebony & the lighter wood is Birdseye Maple.
