Jay Sarno was a visionary and genius ...1966 he changed Las Vegas forever with a great themed Romanesque Casino Hotel. His first choice of names ... Desert Palace .... but the Desert Inn threatened a lawsuit ...They didn’t like the fact they were going to use the word “Desert” .... Jay Sarno owned a few motor hotels called Cabana Hotels ... Also with a Romanesque theme one of them also used Neros’s Nook as their bar night club ....Caesars Palace today still has the 1966 small bar ... called Nero’s Nook ... right next to Cleopatra’s Barge. In the photographs below you can see a lot of the similarities between the Cabana Hotels which inspired Jay Sarno with his Caesars Palace project in Las Vegas....
