Summer of 1970 my high school buddy and I were on a cheap standby cruise out of Miami on the SS Bahama Star …. It was a short Friday to Monday morning cruise … we went to Nassau and there we both snuck in to the paradise island casino…. I thought I was James Bond it was so formal and exciting ….British croupiers in tuxedos ladies in evening gowns with fine jewelry and here we were in bell bottom pants and Nehru jackets…. I remember getting a silver dollar slot token which I still have somewhere and a book of matches …. the cruise ship had a casino, but believe it or not I wasn’t interested …I was too busy dancing at the bar with some pretty girls ….anyway I still love going on cruise ships … thanks for going down memory lane with me and I think this really started my collecting bug of casino chips and such… take care, Rich
