Thanks for sharing that chip. Maybe those chips were made using a similar process as these hub mold chips.

One hypothesis was that the chips were hot stamped without any metallic foil, and afterwards a metallic paint was rubbed into the entire surface of the chip, and then the excess paint scraped off the non-recessed parts of the chips.

There are other theories, however, about how these types of chips were made. Also, when I inspected those hub mold chips closely, I noticed that they seem to be made out of a slightly different material (with more plastic) than most hub mold chips.
