Back to San Diego the other day - left here early and the I-5 was a dream all the way to San Dee-aay. But - not a lot of casino stuff showed up!
I actually needed a shot-glass as my former roommate absconded with the House Glass - as I discovered when I was trying to pour some Tequila on New Year's Eve. I still have a headache from that! So a Mandalay Bay glass was just right.
The vendor selling the Sitmar Cruises Fairsea and Fairwind token said it was of silver and charged a premium. Looks like it encountered "silverfish" at some point. I can't tell for certain if it is Silver - has a certain "clink" different from a brass token but the two cruise ships sailed in the early 1970's. Palace Station token is a first-series find.
My father once told me of the Hungarian "sure-fire" way to tell if something is silver: pick some toadstools, put them in a pan with olive oil, and fry them up. Place your metal object in the pan with them. If it turns black, the metal is silver which is tarnished by poisonous mushrooms. If it stays shiny, okay to eat the stuff. I've never tried this out, though.
