Recycled chip evidence...!

It is no secret that there are chips in Uruguay, Argentina and Cuba that are MOP and originally came from Europe, to be cut, ground and reshaped for their new home; the most elaborate being from Argentina and Uruguay and the crudest being done in Cuba -- with the most noted being the large, oval Club Union pieces I reported about when they first made their debut at a Coconut Grove show. Really no big thing since we know of returned MOP to the manufacturer Caro, in the state of being worn for secondary use, elsewhere; both in France and The Americas... with some pieces having a trail a mile wide in stages of being reworked with some of the results being loppy workmanship.

Here, we have one example of several known which I have been detecting and writing about along with illustrating... This recut and repigmented plaque was once the center of a larger piece where I illustrate location and, the sloppiness in this one example was either not noticing the original serial number or maybe not even caring while machining the new serial number and that could have also been because many othee slabs of MOP didn't even have a serial number - but still interesting in seeing what something was.

Nothing rare about this sfuff; there was a lot of it that came into Florida in the early-90's...
