Ok, I made a pretty big score this week, and now you can, too. This 25 chip from the Trail 40 Casino in Wells NV is NOT in TCR and NOT in the Chipguide (it will be in a day or so!). No prior sales, so it's a "no market" book value. A golden asterisk, if you will. I believe it's worth way more than the Z values that the 5 and 10 denoms are rated at, since those are known and around. Just look at the cross hatching and the condition of the hot stamp. Chip stands on edge.
As many of you know, I only (intentionally) collect 5s which means this one is for s@le.
But I don't want anyone's money.
I want to check as many chips off my want list as I can, which is very short (just over 100 to go). If you'd like to become the proud owner of this super-rare chip without having to explain the sudden drop in your bank account to your spouse, send me your offers (and pics of the chips you're offering). My ph# and email address are in the want list linked below.
Book value certainly matters but the quantity of chips you can help me check off my list will carry more weight than book value alone. Bonus points for getting me the last chip I'm seeking for that city (see bottom of want list).
I'll post what I consider to be higher bids as I get them. Bidders will remain anonymous (unless you announce your bid here, which is fine, I guess) but I will specify the chips being offered to me to help people choose what to counter offer with in quantity and book value. Auction will end whenever the fervor dies down and only one bidder is left standing. Winning bidder must ship chips to me with insurance covering full book value of chips sent, and I will do the same (mine will be in a ringed airtite). Good luck to all. I'm going to be posting this in several lists and FB pages and TRY to keep the bids synchronized on all of them. Questions welcomed.
