From a 1/2 table to a double/corner table

Well, I'm biting the bullet and getting a corner table at this year's convention (don't know my location yet). Decided that the half table I had last year clearly wasn't enough room to spread out and let people see what I had, and I really need to sell off some really nice chips (and other items) that aren't part of my primary collection to maintain my sanity. I've won several auctions with really nice chips over the past couple of years just to get one chip out of the bunch that I needed to check off my list. The rest sit in my collection because I'm too lazy to list them on eBay or post them here. I feel like I have a lot of chips that other people are WAY more interested in collecting, so I hope this endeavor can pay for itself while helping collectors, both new and old, pick up some nice chips. If not, I will have learned my lesson and downsize next year or just enjoy the show without being a dealer. Here's the full-page ad I'm running in the convention program (and also in the club magazine). I'll be holding daily auctions for some nicer chips twice a day (I'll try to publish a list here so everyone knows which chips and when). I'm also going to have a large selection of chips that will be discounted more each day, so if you don't like the price on day one, come back the next and hope someone didn't already snatch it. I will mark all of my chips at low book value, but that's just for buyer's reference. Price will ALMOST ALWAYS be below low book, and dropping 10% each day. I'm also going to offer to pay $5 to $35 of next year's CCA dues for anyone who buys enough of my chips to earn that bonus. I'll have baggies of airtites available if you need them, and I will include free airtites with min purchase. Most (but not all) of the chips I plan to sell are listed in my traders on the chipguide, so feel free to preview my offerings that way.

I hope we have a huge turnout this year, not just so I can justify the huge personal expense I'm making, but also because the convention seems to be the place where the bickering stops and the hobby marches on. I still feel new to the club (joined in 2019) and the hobby, but have been blessed with meeting many great people. I've also taken the time to call some of you "old timers" just to have you talk about anything you damn well please, and I must say, that has been a treasure and I need to pick that up again.

Anyway, please come by my table to introduce yourself or just say hi, even if I don't have anything you're looking for. I look forward to seeing you all.

Thanks -- barry
