and layouts, at least at The Orleans, and other Boyd properties, I suspect.
All of the blackjack and baccarat table tops at The Orleans have been redesigned to shrink the footprint of the layouts and provide a new method of layout replacements. Looking at these pictures, you can see the flat, smooth surface on the dealer's side of the tables, which provide space for the drop slot, chip tray, shuffler and other 'stuff'.
The layout is also reduced in depth, and can now be affixed to a surface that is interchangeable with fresh layouts, or a different game version by lifting off the railing, lifting off the surface and replacing with a fresh layout that was affixed to the lift-out form back in the service room. They can probably replace 10 layouts in the time it took to replace a single layout from the past. Maybe even more!
Has anyone seen this change at other casinos? I guess future used-layout acquisitions will be easier to frame and won't have holes for the drop box, chip tray and shuffler.
