Today's paper has article about the restoration of the El Rancho in Wells. Built in 1949,
it was damaged in the 2008 earthquake an has sat empty since then. Built with structured
steel probably saved it from severe damage. Many other buildings had to be torn down.
For years it was the social center of Wells. I remember the owner taking me in the basement
to look around but all I found was a bag of paper poker chips. There was one 21 game and
