GUEST AUTHORS OF HARVEST STORIES AND THEIR ADVENTURES
A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO I STARTED ASKING GUEST AUTHORS TO SUBMIT HIS/HER’S HARVEST STORIES.
AT THIS WRITING I HAVE 60+ STORIES TO SHARE. I AM HOPING THAT A FEW MORE AUTHORS WILL STEP UP TO THE PLATE, AND THESE VERY PROLIFIC “CHIPPERS” WILL COME UP WITH A FEW MORE. I WILL CONTINUE TO RE RUN THESE STORIES THROUGH THE COMING YEAR.
THESE STORIES ARE ALWAYS INFORMATIVE AND USUALLY HAVE A BIT OF TONGUE AND CHEEK HUMOR.
IT IS ALWAYS FUN TO SHARE WITH OTHERS, DIFFERENT WAYS OF HARVESTING, THE TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS THAT WE HAVE FACED OUT THERE WHILE WE WERE HARVESTING.

The place falls into the "joint" catagory. Black Hawk seems to be divided into 2 strata. The old small joints, and the big corporate casinos. Each have their charms, and their drawbacks. Depends on what experience you're looking for.
In this case the cashier, Tika, was quite friendly and we talked for a while. I showed her The Chipguide on my cell phone. We talked about all of the chips. She said she still has a $100 chip (CG133145 but not notched), and maybe still has a second one. Said the $100's were never on the tables. They were given to employees as a Christmas Gift. ( I assume cashable, at least at the time, but forgot to ask.) Tika said she'd sold one of the $100's for $150 back some time ago, but couldn't remember if she still had another extra one. Not a chip collecter, so much as she'd worked at Bull Durham for a long time and just held onto a copy of each of the chips that crossed her drawer. Said there was one set that made up a Bull on the edges as you stacked them. I don't have enough of the 2002 LE chips to stack 'em and find out if those are the ones or if there is something else out there. Again I defer to the Colorado Collectors to educate me further.
I went back the next day as Tika told me to talk to Larry. I did so, and he confirmed the the $100's were employee Christmas gifts. He was more of a collector, has given it up, but still is not ready to turn loose of any of his goodies.
In a roundabout way, Larry and one of the other guys at the cashier window said something that gave me the impression that they have all of the old chips locked up, stored away somewhere. Tika had just said that the chips were "gone" when I asked if any were stashed away in the cage somewhere. Take this info for no more that it cost you to get it
P.S. With Club sign up you can get a free Hot Dog. Either I was really hungry, or that dog was pretty good. Kinda a neat giveaway item. If I'm ever wandering the streets there again, I'd go back for another one of the dogs as a good quick inexpensive snack.
