This statement appeared in the August 1955 State of Nevada phone book: "These new Las Vegas numbers are effective August 15, 1955". Prior to that phone book, the phone numbers didn't include "DU".

This ad appeared in the Boulder City Telephone Directory Las Vegas Listings January 1962:

In the 1961 Las Vegas Criss Cross, the phone number was still listed as "DU"
