For all of you who complain . . . it doesn't get much worse that this.
While riding my motorcycle home from work (and it getting dark thanks to Standard Oil Time kicking in) - my right shoelace came undone from the boot hooks. This occasionally happens, usually no big thing. But tonight, the lace got wrapped around the brake pedal and my foot was effectively tied to the motorcycle. I was unable to raise my right leg for fear of tangling the lace further. I had to ride on, foot tied to the bike, in first gear, dangling my right leg in the air.
The logical answer: stop the bike, get off and get untangled -- was tried without success as I found it essentially impossible to dismount without fearing the Honda would topple over on my tied-up leg.
I rode on for about 4 miles with this predicament until going north on Laurel Canyon Boulevard in North Hollywood. I was able to swing my leg up and, miracle! The lace slid off the brake pedal. Bridgit Honda was none too happy at this point, having travelled in first gear all that distance, but we made it home, me with both legs now free.
Oh, yeah, I said some naughty words which cannot be repeated on this site right now.
So - how was your day?
