I began collecting chips in the early 70"s when at our local poker game a friend/host brought out a magnificent set of 500 clay eagles w/stars. I hit all the local antiques, all the eastern out door shows; California show. looking for a set like my friend. Never found that set but little by little found "pretty" design clay chips and was soon hooked. Today, 45 years later I just shipped out all but my ivories and some incidental stuff. So while I'm a little sad--I smile because of the many memories I have of my CCA friends, the hunts for chips (more fun than the findings), and the trips to all of the yearly shows where first Allan Myers and then Steve "having fun" Passalaqua put up with me. So although my collection has come to a close, my memories remain open. I'll continue to lurk on the board and hope that next year will find me in sufficient good health to travel west and see you all again.
