Nancy and I spent our 3 week Honeymoon back in 1994 traveling from Delaware to Cape Breton Island Nova Scotia and back. We saw a lot of the same things you did and had many adventures along the way - including almost being capsized while on a whale watching cruise in the Gulf of St Lawrence off Cape Breton Island !!
No Casinos were open at that time only gambling was on the ocean going ferry Scotia Princess from Yarmouth N.S. back to Bar Harbor, Maine.
We went again several years later - great area.
