It may be 3% of their revenue but more for the guest. Say you get a deal for $65 a night and pay $12 that’s more like 18% for guests then tax and maybe parking. So now that cheap room at $65 a night can be closer to $90 or more.
Catalina is thinking of charging the cruise ships a tourist tax for using the island as a stop. We’re getting more and more stopping here during the week. Good for business but harder on our infrastructure. Hope they don’t gouge them and cause them to not stop here but a dollar a head might be ok ?
