September 22, 2019 10:16 The Rich Are Different: Water Use at the Compounds: According to a story in this morning's Las Vegas Sun, the median annual water usage for a Las Vegas household in 2018 was just over 100,000 gallons for the year. "Total and per-capita water use has declined over the last decade, even though the population has increased by 14%," the Sun reports. However, the top 100 water users in the Las Vegas Valley Water District used 284 million gallons, an average of 2.84 million per household in 2018. The largest users were identified as the Prince of Brunei (12.4 million), eBay founder Pierre Omidyar (11.5 million), Sheldon Adelson (11 million), Station Casinos' Lorenzo Fertitta (9.4 million), and Walmart heir Nancy Walton Laurie (6 million).
