As with most languages, there are several different styles of writing as well as accents.
So the same character can be shown in at least 3 (three) different styles. Think of when you write your name out, print it out (Big and Little Letters), and BLOCK letters. For those who collect the cash coins of Japan, Korea, Vietnam or China, we are more then use to this.
And when you pronounce a word, it sound a lot different if you grew up say in Boston, or the Bayou's down in Louisiana!
Having lived in Great Britain for 4 years, I can attest to the fact that we speak here is NOT English, but what I call American!
