Per my article in the club's magazine awhile back, Chinese Characters are NOT concrete but rather ideas - so that people can and do translate them differently. Also, you should take any given word in relationship to the other words before and after any single word.
Just like some spoken and written words in our language can and often are taken out of context - it is the CONTEXT that is important.
If you want "Earth" as opposed to "Kingdom", in the end they come out almost the same.
China, in it's early history, though that they were not only the center of the universe as they knew it, but that there kingdom was the center of the earth.
