One problem with laser: it doesn't wash off the mailing label when the mail carrier delivers you letters or packages in the rain

I practically went from daisy wheel printers to laser - and have never looked back. You can buy inexpensive replacement cartridges on Ebay, although they are not as reliable as original brands. I had an inkjet for a few months in between, but its inadequacies were apparent from the beginning so I bought laser when I could afford it (back when they cost more than $500)
