Weekend Finds - Malameda Antiques Faire

Finally made it to Malameda! And I saw an Alamute running in the Dog Park, too. Had to go through about 4 blocks of Jokeland. First thing I see, an old brown sedan roars through a red light, turns left onto the Freeway ramp. Followed by a CHP car with lights flashing. Oh-ho, these jokers plan to do a pursuit atop the Nelson Mandela Overpass, the one with no walls? Include me out. Foggy morning, found the Naval station (they left a plane parked there), long walk to get to the gate. But worth it, spotted some Las Vegas drink tokens at the very first vendor's table I came to. Some truly unusual chips and tokens, prices ranged from $1 to $5, not too bad. As you can see, I bought a sack full of stuff. Looked around for YOU, Jay Pike; a vendor said he had seen you earlier in the morning?

Just got to the last aisle when vendors began packing up. My cue to make one last purchase (California Club Baby Bear token) and begin the long walk back. Don't usually get Harley-Davidson items but that orange chip from Aruba caught my interest. I mean, someone had to ride his Harley undersea for miles to get there, right? Some items are mysteries, that little blue Gloria's plastic thing is for real, just don't know what it was used for. Scored a Cecil's Club chip! Bright Spot lucky coin holder! And now I know what Karl's Club in Sparks looked like (see the keyfob).

Oh, these pee-wees missed the first photo and began wailing so I took their photo too. Can't have a crying token, even a midget 1,000 Islands Charity Casino quarter.

Are there really 1,000 Islands in Canada? Somebody, go up and count 'em. Fun morning and I got to see somebody unloading containers from a ship over on the Jokeland side of the water. I was hoping they'd drop one (watta joke!) but they were good at their work.
