A dealer who sells chips for a living vs. one who sells chips on eBay. The dealer has to make a profit at his retail price. The eBay seller will often sell chips at a huge discount just to get rid of unwanted chips. Often times it is the dealer who is buying chips on eBay for inventory to sell later at a much higher price at the next chip show or convention. How many times have you seen chips being offered on this forum for face value? A dealer, generally speaking, does not make any money by selling chips at face value.
