Attn: Calif. chip guide administrator

I see that the chip guide lists 2 “Joe’s Pool Parlor”s. One Joe’s was opened in 1932 in San Francisco. The other Joe’s opened in 1963 in San Bruno.

The 1932 attribution was based, I believe, on the USPC sample book record. The record said that the crest and seal Joes Pool Parlor was shipped to a San Fran chip distributor in 1932.

Based on information from the late Gene Trimble’s “friend of the hobby”, there was no San Fran Joe’s The crest and seal was from San Bruno. The San Bruno Joe’s was opened in 1921 and was located on San Mateo Ave, a different address from the 1963 Joe’s. (See ad for joe’s below. Also pic of Joes
‘s is from the 1920s)

I assume they are the same family, although the California experts would have more info than me

Lastly, the crest and seal is red NOT brown
