If they put a new embargo on Cuba don't let that stop you. I went three times before they lifted the embargo and it was no problem. You'll have to fly out of Mexico or the Bahamas. Even coming back through US customs in the Bahamas I had to declare if i had been to any other countries and we always listed Cuba. I got lectured a couple of times by customs and empty threats made but not much they can do.

If you read the law it doesn't say you can't go to Cuba, it says you can't spend any money in Cuba. How are they going to prove you spent money if you pay cash. US credit cards are no good there anyway.

One of the safest countries I have ever been to and the people are wonderful. Beautiful island. We were there fishing all three times and everything was great. The Cubans love Americans, they just don't like our government.
