I have not seen those specific patterns used as a cancellation before (Looks like a crown on the left, and a horseshoe on the right.)

But Chipco often used a black overstamp to cancel a variety of chips. One of their favorites was the roulette series used at the Frontier Casino in Calgary Canada.
