Hi Rich,
I've always had problems following the ownership of the casinos...seems like as soon as I think I have something figured out, more information comes along about partners, or the sale of the casino.
This is part of an article that I wrote, several years ago:
Both of the reference books indicate that the Silver Club opened at 108 North 1st Street in 1932, owned by Joe Morgan, and Fuller’s Index shows that the licensed games were slots, 21, craps and roulette. Though it changed owners from time to time, The Silver Club operated under the same name until 1956.
Joe Morgan also ran the Golden Camel, which was next to the Silver Club and was licensed for slots, 21 and craps. References show that the Golden Camel was first licensed by someone named Rumph for a year or so, in 1931; it was licensed for a second time in 1938, under Joe Morgan. The Golden Camel is listed in the Las Vegas phone books through 1952; in 1953 the Little Casino is shown at that address and phone number. One reference shows that Morgan sold the Silver Club in 1952; perhaps the Golden Camel was part of the deal.
Phil mentioned Jimmy Young...but he didn't say when Jimmy owned it.
