Mailing one chip in "letter envelop" will cost probably more, because it gets damage in the mailing process.
But if you use the "letter envelop" size you can cut the corrugated sheet into the proper size that will not weigh more than what you want.
In my "chipping and mailing" experiences to now - has not lost a chip in USA and foreign mailings, except of course when there is another interested "pseudo chip collectors" in either end.
I mailed recent to 3 European countries with the 8-9 chips in it with no problem, comes out cheaper in the long run, but - HERE THE BUT -
before you mail it make sure you band your envelope with clear tape cross and lengthwise, as "double protection.
One CAVEAT through, you have to remember all "pack and ship" mom and pops business are not 'EQUAL". what I mean is - One PS charged me $32.00 and across the street I was charged $1.30. No names please, but if you email me I will send you the name and complete data with photos of their Schedule Payments and Postages.
