Hello Atlantic City Chippers,
This year is our 25th Anniversary and special Anniversary Chips are in the works. Spring of 2019 has
finally arrived in Atlantic City and the Boardwalk is starting to come back to life after a long cold
winter. The next ACCCC meeting will be held May 19, 2019 at Bally's Hotel and Spa Casino. The doors
will open at 10am and trading will start immediately. 2019 meeting dates- May 19, September 22,
November 17. Nominations and the elections for Board Officers will be held during the May meeting.
The National Convention (CC>CC) will be June 20-22, 2019 at the South Point Hotel Spa Casino in
sunny and hot Las Vegas. Volunteers will be needed to work the Convention. See Brenda Black for
more info.
Meeting recap - March 24, 2019
• All Officers present except for Mr. Marty Thaw.
• There were 36 Members and 13 guests.
• 50/50 Winners: (1) Dennis Garnier, (2) Angie Montebello, and (3) Frank Caccavone and Russ Diaz
(who donated their winnings to the club).
Atlantic City Casino News
• DGE (Division of Gaming Enforcement) determined that the Showboat owner is suitable for casino
licensure.
• Ocean Resort Casino is now renamed to Ocean Casino Resort.
• Poker Stars, was fined $10,000 by State regulators for accepting more than 200 prohibited wagers.
• Jimmy Johnson, State Consultant, suggests exploring the idea of "Capping" the number of casinos
or the total capacity of gaming parlors in Atlantic City.
• Anthony "Tony" Rodio, is replacing Mark Frissora as Caesar's new Entertainment CEO. Tony was the
CEO of the Tropicana properties.
• Atlantic City was named #1 on a list of "20 Gorgeous Beach Towns You can Afford to Live In".
• Open "BOOZE" containers on the Boardwalk could be legal soon.
• Bruce Deifik, former owner of the Ocean Resort, died April 21, 2019 in a car crash after attending a
Colorado Rockies Baseball Game in Colorado. He was 64.
• Hard Rock Casino and Local 54 have reached a deal on their first labor contract.
• While the Miss America Pageant will happen in AC in 2019 it may NOT be in AC in 2020.
• The Atlantic City rail line is purported to be restored on May 24, 2019.
Las Vegas News
• The Golden Gate Casino is expected to open its Sportsbook in June 2019.
• A Canadian Company in planning to reopen the old Gold Mine Casino. The property is across the
state line from Searchlight Nevada.
• Lucky Dragon sold for $36 Million. It will reopen just as a hotel.
• Sting announced his residency at the Colosseum in Caesar's Palace.
• Jimmy Kimmel's new comedy club is opening at the LINQ's Promenade. LINQ also has a new
Zipline.
• The famous "Little White Chapel" is for sale in Las Vegas, if you are interested and have $12 Million!
• Jimmy Vaccaro has left Las Vegas after many, many years, he is joining casinos in Pennsylvania.
• Cosmopolitan Casino is up for SALE. This one's only $4 Billion!
• Tilman Fertila (Golden Nugget) still wants to merge with Caesar's Entertainment.
