Pam, that Overland fob with the old key might have been from when the hotel had only four floors.
You could look thru the keyhole into the room. When I was a kid a lot of locks were like that. You
could open most of them with a skeleton key. They weren't very secure. Later on a fifth
floor was added. I stayed in room 501 several times and the bathroom was down the hall. The
Overland was a neat old place, I dealt in the casino for four years.
