is to differentiate the home/fantasy/commemorative/counterfeits from the actual casino chips. They are, at least supposed to be, categorized so you can tell the difference. Ignoring them is more harmful to the unknowledgeable, in my opinion. I don't collect any of them, personally, but I don't mind if others find them fascinating enough to collect, as long as there is no confusion created.
