I agree you have to be careful being that most of the casino's are run by outside venders. Most of the casino's in Aruba are ran by Venezualian operators that have all sorts of promotions. We love the BlACK JACK tournaments. We always have a ball going head to head with the locals, and sometimes beat them at their own game. If you read the article it is a bit misleading. Headline states they were bilked out of $6,500.00 US dollars. But it does not disclose they are Canadians until later in the article. The US Dollar Amount that the casino thought they were owed was $1,200.00 US for their last bet which is 6,500 Canadian I guess. But now that I think of it that does not make sense either on the exchange rate. The other odd thing is why would you give your drivers license to the dealer in the first place unless you want to get rated and did not stop to get a players card. That takes 5 minutes to get your ID back from the pit Boss, though I don't carry a drivers license into foreign casinos. If they did not want to play anymore why didn't they just get up and leave? Its been my experience once you book a bet with the dealer your bet is live once its accepted even if you don't have the money down in time before the next outcome. Many times that has worked to my advantage especially if your not paying attention on a fast moving game especially craps. Sounds like a bit of fake news coupled with some newbe gamblers that had no business playing a game that they have no knowledge of in the first place. I always get a chuckle when were playing craps on a hot and cold table then a stud stops by and buys in with a grand and blows it all in a few cold rolls. Not paying attention! There is always two sides to a story but loosing $1,200.00 is a fare cry from breaking the bank. Unless I missed something. Try booking a bet and not paying if you loose in any casino and see what happens. LOL
