Casino de Liban shows one of their famed Cedars of Lebanon. After World War I, France took over Lebanon under a Mandate from the League of Nations. It didn't last long, but French became the foreign language of choice for the Lebanese for many decades thereafter - their postage stamps and money also bore some French inscriptions.
