Our most beloved members, Brian "Mr Splahsbar" Cashman.

The idea started as a chippers get together at the bar and started in 2005 when the convention was at the Riv. We all used to meet at the "Splash" bar which was named after the current show at the riv.

Brian was a regular at the corner of the bar and for years it was where chippers came to meet during convention week. In 2006 Brian started giving an award for those that did something memorable during the past year.

While the convention has moved, the spirit of the original Splashbar will always be with us and now if actually the Island bar at the South Point.

We had given out 12 Splashys thru 2017 when just after the convention Brian left our lives.

Last years Splashy was hosted by me and didn't feature a winner, but instead was a celebration of life where we brought in many members of Brian's family so thy could experience the joy that Brian had here and see the love from his Club family.

For 2019, I have been asked fill the shoes of Brian, although I will NEVER be able to measure up to Mr Splashbar and the memories he left us all with.

While the "Splash Bar" goes on all convention long, the Splashys award ceremony is Friday night during the convention and is an event not to be missed.
