POD of CALIFORNIA ONES 
Good Day Fellow Chippers, Today I have for you my last grouping of California Ones ($1's). This will be the last Page of the Day (POD), for quite a while. This cycle of POD's has been one of the best if not the best since I started displaying my traders. I want to thank all of the people that have been emailing me, requesting chips and making trades. Folks if you have not got started on the Chip Query, please take another look, there are thousands of chips available for trades and in most cases people listed on there will sell you a chip or two if you are seriously interested in going that way. Again I want to thank all my hold service people, and all of you that have requested even one chip, over the last 8-9 months of the POD's. I appreciate the orders and trades immensely. PS; Hi Folks this is a PS to the regular message: I will be taking a couple of months off of publishing the “Page of the Day, starting this coming April 6th. This will be the last POD, until the first week of July. At this time I am planning not to start the POD until after the LV Show. I will post the actual dates later. (It is looking like the first week of July) During this time; I will be lowering prices making the necessary changes, adding the newly acquired items from the LV show, and scanning the new images. Well, we're back to the Las Vegas Strip in the sticks again. Guess this place is busy as it's on the highway just a short drive from Oceanside. Whatever.
$5 BlackJack table. I sat down at 3rd base, and the Pit Boss informs me that there is someone sitting there. He must have been invisible and slightly squished with me on top of him. There were no chips at the positition, no drink, dealer didn't say anything, no towel on the back of the chair (or over the chips, had the guy just left for a bathroom run). No sign of life as there would be in Las Vegas. After seeing me not moving well after getting off my scooter, he made me move to anther seat. (Saving seats on a $5 table??? OK, this is not a strip casino!)
Cards dealt "Old Style": face down. I picked up the cards just a bit, not taking them off the table, but as I'm a sometimes poker player, instinctively used both hands in a "protect your hand" poker style. Pit Boss snapped at me again "Only one hand on the cards!" Excuuuuuse the Frick out of me, Damn. If you don't want us touching the cards, deal 'em face up. Leaving the table after one hand would have been my play even if it was not my usual M.O.
Outta here, on to the last place on the tour. I'd been hungry for a while, and was going to get a personal Pizza at Pauma, as their prices were not too outrageous for casino food these days. $7.50 for a personal sized pepperoni pizza. But the line was 1/2 an hour long, so I skipped it. Problem is, now I'm jonesing for a pizza. The path to the next casino was off the highway and on to the back roads that I'm guessing the tourists don't hit. A couple of blocks from the casino, in the Youth Center parking lot I see a trailer with a sign "Hot Pizza". Turned and went back to check it out. Personal Pepperoni Pizza, baked fresh, FOUR DOLLARS! Not even any sales tax. Waited 10 min for it to come up. Not super special, still very good, and a heck of a deal for the price. Had to wait a while for it to cool enough to eat it, while driving on a mountain road... If you go to Pala I'd certainly hit this food trailer, for some good cheap munchies.

A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO I STARTED HAVING A GUEST AUTHOR AND HIS/HER HARVEST STORY AS OFTEN AS I COULD.
AT THIS WRITING I ONLY HAVE 49 STORIES TO SHARE. I AM HOPING THAT A FEW MORE AUTHORS WILL STEP UP TO THE PLATE, AND THESE VERY PROLIFIC “CHIPPERS” WILL COME UP WITH A FEW MORE. I WILL CONTINUE TO RE RUN THESE STORIES THROUGH THE COMING YEAR. AND ADD STORIES AS THE POD ROLLS ALONG.
THESE STORIES ARE ALWAYS INFORMATIVE AND USUALLY HAVE A BIT OF TONGUE AND CHEEK HUMOUR.
LET’S SHARE WITH OTHERS DIFFERENT WAYS OF HARVESTING, THE TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS THAT WE HAVE FACED OUT THERE WHILE WE WERE HARVESTING.

BOOMERS PUB HAS THE FOLLOWING WROTE ON EACH OF IT’S CHIPS, IT IS UNREADABLE TO THE AVERAGE PERSON. BOOMERS PUB-GAMING-GRILLE-LIQUOR. WHEN YOU WALK IN THERE, ESPECIALLY IN THE EVENING IT IS A HAPPENING PLACE. I WALKED IN THERE ONE EVENING AND WANDERED AROUND UNTIL I FOUND THIS LITTLE NOOK BACK IN A CORNER WHERE THERE WAS A SINGLE TABLE WITH 9 PLAYERS ALREADY GOING AT IT. I SAID WHO DO I TALK TO TO GET ON THE WAITING LIST. QUICKLY A YOUNG MAN SAID TO ME WHAT IS YOUR NAME YOU WILL BE NEXT IN. IT WAS NOT TOO LONG WHEN SOME GOT UP AND SAID I GOT A HOT DATE, CASH ME OUT. I BOUGHT IN FOR A BILL AND STARTED METICULOUSLY GOING THROUGH THE RACK FOR THE PERFECT CHIPS, AND AT THAT TIME THERE WAS ONLY 1’S AND 5’S AVAILABLE, BUT AS I GOT TO TALKING TO THE CARD ROOM MANAGER, THE BRUSH AND THE DEALER (ALL THE SAME GUY) HE SAID HE HAD CHIPS THEY USE FOR ANTES YEARS AGO (25c CHIPS) AND SOME TWO DOLLAR CHIPS THAT THEY NO LONGER USE, BUT WOULD NOT SELL; BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT HONOR CASHING THEM IN.
WHILE I PLAYED, I CHIT CHATTED WITH THE “BOSS” AND GOT ALONG VERY WELL WITH HIM, I POSED THE QUESTION, I KNOW YOU CAN’T SELL THESE TWO CHIPS IN QUANTITY BUT WOULD YOU SELL ME ONE EACH, HE SAID WHY NOT. HE HAD A BAR TENDER COME TO SPELL HIM FROM MARATHON DEALING SO HE COULD HIT THE HEAD, AND DO WHAT WAS NECESSARY WHILE HE GOT RELIEVED. HE THEN GOT DOWN ON HIS KNEES OPENED A SAFE THAT WAS RIGHT CLOSE TO ME, AND PULLED OUT A COUPLE OF THOSE CHIPS I WAS BEGGING FOR; HE SAID HERE YA GO, NO CHARGE. JUST DO NOT EVER TRY TO CASH THEM IN. I TOLD HIM, NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT THERE, THEY ARE GOING TO CALIFORNIA IN A FEW DAYS. LATER WHEN I CASHED OUT WITH MY POCKETS FULL OF ONES AND FIVES, I THANKED HIM AGAIN. THAT WAS A SWEET HARVEST, NO PROBLEMS AND I DID GET ENOUGH CHIPS TO LAST MANY YEARS…REGGIE

I ALSO WOULD LIKE TO THINK THAT IN SHARING THESE STORIES, THERE MIGHT BE A COUPLE OF THINGS THAT YOU MAY NOT OF THOUGHT ABOUT WHILE YOU WERE OUT HARVESTING.
ALL OF THE STORIES CAN NOT BE STELLAR STORIES, AND THEY WILL RANGE FROM “HO-HUM” TO “R U KIDDIN’ ME”. I’M SURE SOME OF YOU WILL FIND SOME OF THEM SLIGHTLY AMUSING AND ENTERTAINING.
SOME OF THE REASONS THAT I ENJOYED HARVESTING IS THE LOCATIONS AND THE GEOGRAPHY. BUT, MOST OF ALL I LOVED THE HISTORY OF THE AREAS I HAD TO GO TO IN FINDING THE CHIPS.
MY TRAVELS HAVE TAKEN ME THROUGH ALL OF THE LOWER 48 STATES. I ALSO TRAVELED TO MANY PROVINCES IN CANADA, MANY OF THE ISLANDS IN THE CARIBBEAN AND PARTS OF EUROPE.
PLEASE KNOW, THAT IN WRITING THESE STORIES; IT GIVES ME GREAT PLEASURE TO SHARE MY EXPERIENCES HARVESTING. NOW-A-DAYS MOST OF MY TRAVELING IS DONE BY PLANE OR BOAT.
I AM TRYING TO HAVE A GUEST AUTHOR ON EVERY POST, ALSO. THIS WILL ADD SOME DIFFERENT TWISTS TO THIS FUN HOBBY’S HARVESTING TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS.
