Since there were five Sundays in March, Long Beach held a Special Flea Market Show today, some of the usual vendors but some newcomers also. Once again, I saw many chips and tokens, but I was being picky and looking for stuff I did not yet have. Slow going for a couple of aisles, then I saw the Baines Casino pair. It was just like being Cowboy in Monaco! (Steve P. would understand.) Then, a long walk but I finally spotted an entire rack of chips and tokens. Score! Nevada mostly, but some interesting stuff.
Two weeks ago I noticed a Hacienda black Free Play chip but the hot-stamping was worn on one side. And today, I found another one, in much better condition. Score again! Thunderbird Moneyclip which is a Thunderclip, and the Gardena Club 25ยข Bear chip. Double score!
Oh, that Barris Kustoms chip from the Hard Rock -- George Barris is no longer with us, and the Hard Rock is almost no longer around, so I figured the chip is Instant History. Looking at it when I got home, I see it's denominated $5 (didn't notice it at the swap meet).
Oh, the tea mug? Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Anniversary, and it was free (seller desperately wanted to clear her tables by the time 1:30 rolled by) - so one of these nights I will have Tea With The Queen. More scores than Skorzeny.
