What is "The Trail of the MoGH"?...

At the present time, the MoGH has 6 Exhibits/Displays in and around Las Vegas. Actually, they are all 'in' Las Vegas, but we are trying to branch out!

The MoGH Board has taken to calling the collective number of Exhibits/Displays as, "The Trail of the MoGH".

That Trail is currently set as...

The Mob Museum
The El Cortez Hotel Casino
The Plaza Hotel Casino
The NEON Museum
The Nevada State Museum, Springs Preserve
Spinettis Gaming Supplies

Each is unique in subject, duration, physical layout and for one, the entire contents are changed out to represent a different casino every six months or so.

Case in point, is the Exhibit at the NEON Museum. It started with 2 shelves in a display case that features collectibles from the Golden Nugget (Downtown Las Vegas). That display was changed out to feature the Stardust Casino, with added shelf space. Later still, the entire display case was made available and the theme changed to that of the Sahara Hotel Casino. Well, it's time for a change once again!

In celebration of the NEON Museum's very recent acquisition and set-up of the huge, neon-trimmed, 80 foot tall guitar from the Hard Rock Hotel Casino, the MoGH Board has decided to change the display feature the Hard Rock. We are now in the process of asking *CCA* members to consider loaning material from their collections that are Hard Rock Hotel Casino, Las Vegas themed, to the MoGH for a period of 1 year. While the material will be on-display for about 6 months, we need time both ahead of, and after, the display period, in order to process the loaned material, i.e., intake and return.

We are de-emphasizing live gaming chips, because we know that part way through the Exhibit, the Hard Rock will likely be doing a redemption, which will be disruptive to the Exhibit. However, we are in need of everything else Hard Rock, but it MUST be Hard Rock Hotel Casino, Las Vegas.

We are in need of, non-redeemable chips (roulettes, NCV, Tournament, etc.), restaurant menus, room keys, room directories, room toiletries, , playing cards, dice, player cards, you know, the usual 'stuiff'.

Please contact myself, as the MoGH Director of Exhibits and Events, to make arrangements for the MoGH to receive any material. I am at:

I thank you for your attention in this matter and thank you in advance for your participation.

Shown below is the Sahara Display (right) next to a Hard Rock architectural drawing of the guitar. Both are in the Lobby of the NEON Museum, which has had several other Hard Rock items on display.

Imaged below is the Hard Rock Guitar signage, donated to the NEON Museum by the Hard Rock. As pictured, it is operating off of a generator. The construction activity in the foreground is the local power company adding more power to the grid that feeds the NEON Museum.

The MoGH.... always moving forward!
